HOW TO BE A FOOTBALL AGENT IN NIGERIA AND ABROAD #080Businessfriday

Football is like the movie industry where the actors are the visible ones though we have the directors, producers, camera men and many more.

In football, apart from the players and the coaches we see on the field and screen, we also have the AGENTS who are working behind the scenes to make sure a player gets transferred from one club to another.

Cristiano Ronaldo is less than 50 million pounds richer than his agent, Jorge Mended. The beautiful thing about an agent is the longevity. An agent can work till he/she is very old. He/She can even have an agency company that can outlive him/her, unlike in football where a player can not be very active in his 40’s.

The first step is to write an application to be a football agent letter addressed to the Nigerian Football Federation, attach some documents like your payment slip (An application amount paid to the NFF account: the fee and account is subject to the administration on board, you can find out from the NFF office closest to you) and other documents like your date of birth, state of origin, and other academic and nonacademic certificates. First leaving certificate is enough.

The NFF will send your name to the NDLEA, EFCC, CPC and other Bureaus to check if you have been involved in any drug related or fraudulent activities prior to your application. You will be invited for an exam if you scale through the background check hurdle.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE ACCORDING TO ARTICLE 8 OF FIFA STATUS

If your application satisfies the relevant prerequisites, the Nigerian Football Federation will invite you to take a written exam. The NFF may hold examinations twice a year in the months of March and September. The exact dates shall be determined by FIFA in January and June of each year. The examination is organised by the NFF in Abuja and held under the general supervision of FIFA. The examination shall be set as a multiple-choice test.

You will be tested on the following subjects:

(A) knowledge of the current football regulations, especially in connection with transfers (the statutes and regulations of FIFA, CAF and the NFF.

(B) knowledge of civil law (basic principles of personal rights) and the law of obligations (law of contract).

Its important to note that each examination shall consist of twenty questions, fifteen on international regulations and five on national regulations. You will have between 60 and 90 minutes to complete the examination. FIFA is responsible for the setting of the the minimum mark required to pass the examination. Each correct answer shall be awarded one point only.

If you fail to attain the minimum mark, you may apply to retake the examination on the next available date if you wish.

If you fail on the third attempt, you may not take the exam again for another two years. Your results will come out on or before six months.

If you pass the written examination, the NFF shall request you to conclude a professional liability insurance in your own name with a reputable insurance company in Nigeria. The insurance shall adequately cover any risks that may arise from your activities.

Good afternoon!

READ WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF AND WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE UP ON ANYONE!!

Only you can change your life. No one can do it for you. This is the story of a street painter! A story of a Manchester City star!!!

The picture you see is one of the pictures shared by Gabriel Jesus. One is a street painter in the streets of Brazil. The other is an accomplished City player.

Standing barefoot on a cobbled street in Brazil was a 17 year old boy whose only dream was to defeat poverty and put on the yellow and blue shirt of Brazil.

Some even said this picture was taken in 2014 when he was busy painting the streets of Brazil in preparation for 2016 Olympics. He didn't even know he would be featuring in the same mundial.

Sometimes your current needs and poverty makes it impossible to dream and imagine where you could be.
If your current situation and condition is frozen for a moment. Our guess is, it will be like that of Gabriel Jesus walking barefoot on the cobbled streets of Brazil.

But there is always a two side of a story. Just as there are two sides of a coin. There are also two sides in your story. Yes. The same story you are currently writing. One is your current state and condition. The other is where you will be if you keep working hard and never stopped believing in yourself.

There are two sides in a day: Darkness and light. Your darkness will not last long. Your day is coming and coming faster than you can ever imagine.

080football is here to tell you to continue working hard. Continue believing in yourself and in your abilities. We are here to tell you that YOUR DREAMS ARE VALID!

Good morning everyone!

BREAKING NEWS: WENGER HAS AGREED TO A TWO YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION AT ARSENAL!

Report reaching us has it that Arsene Wenger has verbally agreed to a new two-year contract with Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke after yesterday's meeting.

We understand that it was rubber-stamped by the Arsenal board today, Tuesday & announced tomorrow, Wednesday

The Frenchman, who has been at the club for 21 years, was out of contract at the end of this season but had already been offered an extension. It hadn't been signed, though.

The Gunners were fifth in the Premier League this season, the first time they have finished outside the top four since the Frenchman joined in 1996.

They finished 18 points behind champions Chelsea, but beat the Blues to win the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday.

What do you think about this new development ?

YOU CAN DO ANYTHING IF YOU GROW!

Everyone has something inside of them, something called a potential. Though this 'thing' is invincible and silent, it can be noticed if nurtured and developed.

We don’t know how great you are or how great you can be. But we know you have the potential to make a difference if you choose to put in the needed work and effort to developing it.

Potential is a loving word every #080football fan should fall in love with. Potential makes you understand that there is more in you than what you or other people see. It builds your optimism. It builds your hope. It makes you understand that you can do anything if you develop yourself. You will do anything if you grow.

Growth puts the ball of success on your court. It’s a good thing to discover that your success does not depend on any vague thing or an individual who doesn't care much about you.

It is up to you to discover and develop your strength, abilities and capacities. This will make you more and more in touch with what you do for a living.

Don’t leave your success to chance. Be deliberate. Create it by developing yourself.

Remember, your success is in you!!

Have a lovely day!!

THE EPL ARE NOT HELPING MANCHESTER UNITED AND MOURINHO IS RIGHT TO BLAST THE FA!

Jose Mourinho is right to be furious that the Premier League are forcing Manchester United to play their final game of the season against Crystal Palace on Sunday. This is three days before their Europa League final against Ajax who are probably resting.

The Manchester United supremo is right to also claim that in any other league in the world the match would have been rescheduled to the day before.

For those who doesn't know what we are talking about, neither United, who are stuck in sixth even after a goalless draw with Southampton on Wednesday night, and Palace, who are safe after relegating Hull City, have anything to fight for on their final match.

So we expected the FA to schedule the game to a day before so as to allow Manchester United more time to prepare
for their Europa final with Ajax.

Don't be against this if you support any EPL club because it might be your turn tomorrow. This is 080football's view
on the matter. Tell us what you think about this!

MOURINHO BLAST THE PREMIER LEAGUE FOR NOT RESCHEDULING MAN UNITED VS CRYSTAL PALACE GAME!

Jose Mourinho has Champions League qualification to play for when Manchester United meet Ajax at the Friends Arena in Stockholm next Wednesday. He blasts the fixture schedulers for not showing support to Manchester United. This is what he said.

MOURINHO: 'In any country in the world, the match would be Saturday. We are sixth, it doesn't matter what happens on Sunday. Crystal Palace are safe, So I think after the moment Crystal Palace beat Hull City and Hull are relegated, and Swansea are safe, I think in that moment the match has to be Saturday. In any country in the world, it would be Saturday. It's frustrating for me.'

Mourinho has not bothered to contact the Premier League with his grievance. 'I don't lose time, when I know that the battle is lost, I don't fight the battle,' he said.

'I have been here seven years and I never saw any detail of trying to care about the English teams involved in European competitions.
'I never saw that with Chelsea, I never saw that with Manchester United, I never saw that with Manchester City last year. It's just a lost battle. We have to accept the way it is.'

Crystal Palace coach, Big Sam also supported Jose Mourinho. We will do a full write up on why we think the FA is unfair to Manchester United and why we think Mourinho is right to blast them!

WHO OWNS BARCELONA FOOTBALL CLUB?

FC Barcelona is full of enigmas and amazing open secrets that have remained unpopular to football fans over the years. For example, did you know that Barcelona is a club owned by nobody because it is owned by a lot of people?

On October 22, 1899, Hans Kamper placed an advertisement in a local newspaper stating his wish to form a football club. Barcelona football club was created after eleven players and some individuals who saw the advert attended the meeting held at the Gimnasio Solé on November 29th.

These 155,000 members or "socios" (as they are called), pay an annual membership fee of €140 as owners of Barcelona Football Club.

The socios govern the club by electing a president of the board in an election which usually takes place every four years.  Any member with the necessary number of signatures of other members can be eligible to run for an elective position. Obviously you have to be rich enough and have the contacts to afford an expensive campaign and advertising.

The advantage of Barcelona membership includes;
* 20% discount on tickets for most matches.
* 5-10% off merchandise from FCBotiga, the club's store.
* free stadium and museum tours.
*Free access to open training sessions held at the Mini-Estadi.
  and many other perks.

Barcelona was not registered as a business. It was registered as an NGO because the profits/dividends are not shared at the end of the year. But it is reinvested in the club.

Many Nigerians will be willing to pay close to 90,000 to be part of the owners of FC Barcelona. But very few will pay 9,000 to be part of a local club. This is the difference!

Good evening!

#BUSINESSFRIDAY: A LESSON FROM ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB!!

Football is so interesting and interwoven with our everyday life. So much so we can always learn a thing or two from games, clubs, players and stats. We hope to get a few juice from Arsenal's #EPL records in 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 seasons

Arsenal was on 64 points after 35 games in 2015/2016 season. They are on 66 points after the same number of games this season. The difference between this season and the one before it is is the difference in their league position

Arsenal was 4th on the log after 35 games. They are 5th after same game this season. This is because clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham are doing better than they did last season.

It doesn't always pay to be consistent in doing the same thing and not improving on them over time. We hold this view even
what you do is currently getting you the desired results and income.

We strongly hold this view because inflation, innovation and other factors that come with time is guaranteed to make you earn and do less with the same amount of resources.

So make sure you always find something to improve on in your job or career. This is how you stay on top of your game.

Thanks for your time!

HOW TO BECOME A FOOTBALL COACH IN NIGERIA AND ABROAD

Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a football coach? Do you have a friend or relative that is so keen on becoming the next Murinho, Wenger, Ancellotti, Pep Guardiola or Simeone? You are welcome to 080FOOTBALL-HOW-TO-BE segment. We want to show you how easy it is and what to do to become a football coach in Nigeria and abroad.

WHO IS QUALIFIED?

Everybody is eligible as long as you are at least 16 years old with a first leaving certificate or its equivalent (minimum qualification). Those with visual impairments may not be qualified because football is a visual game.

PLEASE USE THESE SIX FACTS TO TELL US WHY MANCHESTER UNITED LOST 2-0 TO ARSENAL!

FACT 1: Arsenal defeated Manchester United 2-0 to move within six points of fourth place but with a game in hand

FACT 2: They also closed to within two points of Jose Mourinho's side in fifth and retain a spare game on them also

FACT 3: Granit Xhaka opened scoring early in the second-half after his speculative shot from distance deflected in

FACT 4: The lead was doubled two minutes later when Danny Welbeck powered home a header against his old club

FACT 5: David de Gea saved well from Aaron Ramsey in the first-half, while Wayne Rooney missed one-on-one chance

FACT 6: United still played quality players as Mata, Rooney, Martial, Mkhitaryan, Herrera, Carrick, De Gea, Rashford and Lingard all played.

QUESTION: Please why did Manchester United loose 2-0 to Arsenal?

(A) Manchester United lost because they want to comeback to their beloved 6th position!

(B) Manchester United lost because Arsenal were better than them

(C) Manchester United lost because they are only concerned with Europa

(D) Manchester United lost because Mourinho wants Wenger to remain as Arsenal’s manager next season.

(E) Manchester United lost because the gods are angry with Mourinho!

Please answer and tell us what you think!

LET'S DEBATE: ARE GOALKEEPERS WELL RESPECTED IN FOOTBALL?

Well, in yesterday's #UCL Juventus scored two beautiful goals from well worked out passes. But the scoreline did not make the difference between Juventus and Monaco. The goalkeepers made the difference as it could have ended 4-2 in favour of either Monaco or Juventus.

Buffon pulled 5 world class saves to deny Mbappe while his counterpart at the other end, could not pull the same performance. He was helpless as both goals strolled into the net.

For those who doesn't understand what we are saying. Buffon is yet to concede a goal despite playing more than 600 minutes in the Champions league. The last time Buffon conceded a goal in the Champions league,  Barack Obama was still the president of United States of America.

We can say this about David De Gea, Courtois, Iloris and many more goalkeepers in the world. It is not about how good they are ONE-ON-ONE. It's all about their positioning, timing and their reflexes. This to us, is even more important than their ONE-ON-ONE proficiency.

We don't get to see goalkeepers nominated in best footballer of the year awards. The only reason Buffon will be in the Champions league team of the tournament is because a striker/midfielder can not replace a goalkeeper in the starting 11. His name will not pop up if they count the best 13 players in the Champions league this season. This is how bad it is.

So here is our question,
Do you think goalkeepers are well respected and recognised in football? Or you think they are not.

Tell us what you think!

IS MUNTARI RIGHT TO LEAVE THE PITCH BECAUSE HE WAS RACIALLY ABUSED?

Lets give you the full gist. Ghana's Sulley Muntari dramatically walked off the pitch while playing for Pescara at Cagliari on Sunday after his complaints of racist abuse were met with a yellow card.

The former AC Milan and Inter midfielder, who claimed the abuse also came from children, angrily confronted Cagliari fans, shouting at them: "This is my colour."

Muntari, 32, could now face disciplinary measures after deciding to leave the field seconds before fulltime – a decision that earned him a second yellow card, and then a red, from referee Daniele Minelli.

Earlier, he had spoken directly with a section of the Cagliari supporters targeting him with racist abuse.

"They shouted at me from the beginning of the game, and in the first half I saw children in the group, so I went to their parents and gave them my jersey to set an example and to say you are not supposed to do that," he said.

"I tried to reason with them but the referee told me I had to stop. That's when I got pissed off. Why did he not stop the match?

"I am not a victim, but I am convinced that if they stopped the matches, this kind of thing would not happen any more."

While leaving the pitch in frustration and murmuring "Basta ! (Enough)", Muntari went to address more supporters, showing them his arm and shouting: "this is my colour, this is my colour."

Tell us what you think about all this racism wahala!

THIERY HENRY: SANCHEZ IS THE ONLY ARSENAL PLAYER WHO WOULD GET INTO TOTTENHAM'S FIRST ELEVEN!!

Alexis Sanchez is the only Arsenal player who would get into the Tottenham team on current form. This is not a gospel according to 080football. It is a gospel preached by Arsenal legend - Thierry Henry.

Let's put the facts together for clarity sake.
The Gunners face their north London rivals on Sunday knowing that a defeat will guarantee that they will finish behind them in the Premier League this season.

Spurs head into the fixture at White Hart Lane on the back of an eight-game winning run in the top flight that has taken them to a club-record points haul in the Premier League, keeping them firmly in the title race.

Arsenal, by contrast, lie four points outside the top four in sixth place, with their place in the FA Cup final a highlight in what has otherwise been a terrible season.

Let's go to Oga Henry.

"It's difficult for me as an Arsenal man at the minute," Arsenal's record goalscorer told Sky Sports. "But you have to be honest. At the minute also, I can only see right now Alexis Sanchez getting into that team without anyone saying 'how come he's in the team?'" However, Henry hopes that the desire to stop Spurs from winning the title will be enough motivation for Arsenal to produce a top performance on Sunday.

"All the others, I think people will argue with that…but that doesn't mean Tottenham are going to win easily," he said.
"We're not here to compare my time and their time, but I can only think as a competitor if I was going to the Lane the way it is at the minute and people were thinking 'we cannot win any big games away from home' and we can stop them winning the title I would wake up that day thinking 'this is my day today'.
"Hopefully they are going to have the same attitude."

Do you agree with him???

5 THINGS WE LEARNED FROM CHELSEA 4-2 SOUTHAMPTON!

5 HAZARD CONTINUES TO SHOW WHY HE IS COURTED BY REAL MADRID!
In the past few days we have seen why
Eden Hazard is a big money target for Real Madrid this summer and why the Blues are desperate to keep him. He opened the scoring against Southampton with a cool Hazardous finish. Respekt!

4 DOUBLE KANTE SHOWS WHY HE IS THE SALT AT CHELSEA!
Having picked up the PFA Player of the Year award, N'Golo Kante is surely heading for the Double as he is the leading contender for the Football Writers Association Player of the Year.
He is, of course, on for the more important Premier League and FA Cup double after Tuesday night's result.
Kante was the salt of Leicester. He is the reason this Chelsea team gell. He is their salt as he preserves their lead with his brilliant interceptions.

3 CHELSEA’S DEFENCE CONTINUES TO GIVE CONTE SOMETHING TO WORRY ABOUT!
We will go down to the years of our forefathers before we can remember the last time they kept a clean sheet. They have conceded loads of goals and Conte will be worried as he approach the last games of this season.

2 SOUTHAMPTON HAVE A READY REPLACEMENT FOR VIRGIL VAN DIJK
The emergence of Jack Stephens shows Southampton have a ready replacement for Virgil van Dijk if he leaves this summer.
The young defender has impressed, stepping into the breach during Van Dijk's enforced absence through injury.
Southampton will be looking forward to selling their prized asset who has attracted concrete interest from Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal
.
1 CHELSEA IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT AND PROFICIENT GOAL SCORERS IN THE EPL!
Manager, Antonio Conte must run some mean coaching drills to make Chelsea super efficient
Chelsea's first three shots on target all ended up in the back of the net.
Similarly, Chelsea had five shots on target during the entirety of Saturday's FA Cup win over Tottenham and scored four.
They are the most efficient scorers in the EPL.

CONTE TAKES SWIPE AT MANCHESTER UNITED AND CITY! SAYS MONEY CAN'T BUY YOU THE TITLE! !

Antonio Conte has taken a swipe at Manchester City and Manchester United by claiming his Chelsea team are proving that spending the most money does not guarantee success.
I think this season it's very important to understand that it's not always about who spends more money who wins,” said Conte.

“Otherwise, in this league, this season the name of the team wasn't Chelsea or Tottenham or Arsenal or Liverpool. You understand?
“I think in every situation it's important to find the right balance. If you have to spend money, try and spend that money in the right way to take players with the right characteristics for your idea of football.”

But asked if he expects City and United to spend more money than Chelsea again, Conte replied: “Yes, like every year. You've seen the past. You can see that every season they spend a lot of money.
“I don't want to go into the situation of the other teams, other clubs, other managers. Every single club decides their own strategy. But, if you ask me, this season isn't the only season the Manchester clubs have spent a lot of money.

“Look at the past. It's normal for them. It's right for them to do this, to reinforce their teams, if they think this is the right way to win the title.

Well, while United spent £89m on Paul Pogba, who has struggled to consistently show his best form, Chelsea signed N’Golo Kante for a relative bargain price of £30m and the midfielder was voted the PFA Player of the Year. Maybe Conte is right.

MEET THE BRAZILIAN REFEREE DENISE BUENO WHO OFFICIATES MATCHES IN SKIMPY OUTFITS!

We dont like doing this. But based on trends and popular demand, we want to tell you why this lady is trending.

Its no news that stunning model Denise Bueno has certainly earned herself a few admirers when she officiated a Brazilian amateur match between Desire and Sporting.

Wearing a skimpy white T-shirt with no bra, Bueno literally had heads turning as the footballers lined up for a group photo.

It was even reported that two players from either side couldn’t even look at the camera whilst others were guilty of having a grin bigger than Mungo Park when he discovered the river Naija. Sorry Niger.

Going back to the story, we learned that Bueno did a good job as she handled the responsibilities of being a linesman.

The game almost stopped when she started sweating under the hot sun in Brazil. This is because the sweat made a certain part of her anatomy more visible to the distracted players.

Don't ask 080football the scores of the match as every player preferred putting the ball towards the lady's end. Making it impossible to score a goal.

We promise to keep you updated as events unfolds. We really want to know what her mission is and why the Brazilian FA let her put on those skimpy and revealing outfits.

What do you guys think about this?

6 PLAYERS TO WATCH IN TODAYS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GAMES!

1. MAHREZ
He is not the best of players in the #UCL when you consider his goals. But if you consider his home form, then Riyad
Mahrez is a player to be scared of because he has had a hand in 4 goals in 4 #UCL home games for Leicester this season.
He has 2 goals and 2 assists.

2. DIEGO GODIN
This player is so important because Atletico have kept 6 clean sheets in the 8 #UCL games Diego Godín has started this season. Liecester City need to go past him if they want to make a headway.

3. GRIEZMANN
Another player Leicester City needs to watch is Antoine Griezmann. He is probably the most important player in
Atletico Madrid because he has been directly involved in 7 goals in 9 #UCL outings for Atlético this season. He has
5 goals and 2 assists.

4. ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI
Robert Lewandowski has scored 46 goals in 45 outings for club & country this season. Real Madrid defenders will keep an eye
on him.

5. MARCELO
When you are looking for an assist from an uncommon source.
Marcelo is your go-to-guy. He is one player you should keep your eyes on.

6. CRISTIANO RONALDO
His last 2 goals against Bayern Munich says it all. Cristiano Ronaldo has been directly involved in 10 goals in
9 #UCL games for Real Madrid this season (4 goals, 6 assists). He he probably the VIP in the Champions League this season

HAPPY MUGABE REACTS TO CHELSEA’S 2-0 LOSS TO MANCHESTER UNITED!

Remember when I told you that Chelsea is only holding this cup for Tottenham? It's happening!!!

Remember when I told you that the #EPL title belongs to everybody and it belongs to nobody? Well, it's happening!

Chelsea played 90 minutes without a shot on target. This is like not being able to say I LIKE YOU to a lady you went out on a 90 minute date with.

Conte has a funny sense of humour. He brought Begovic who couldn't save his Chelsea career under Mourinho to save them from Manchester United under Mourinho!

Mourinho is like that student who came first after copying from the best student in the class. He adopted Conte’s 3-5-2 formation.

Matic is such a good and amazing player for Chelsea. When in form, he can make Chelsea look clueless and useless.

My wife told me that Costa has been very poor since #TTT was evicted from #BBNaija. I am now sure Chelsea replaced Costa with TTT the same way Juventus replaced Pogba with his brother!

You know you are in trouble when you are still looking for your best player after 90 minutes. Someone should tell Herrera to release him. Iyalenla any Hazard! Herrera ti take over!

Chelsea loosing the title to Tottenham will be like that handsome rich guy in Banana Island who lost his wife to his maiguard in Ajegunle!
